Last night ended with a killer withdrawal headache. I took some Natural Calm (loaded full of magnesium and supposed to help). It was however a very restless night and I woke up feeling like I had been up all night. My headache was gone by the morning however, so that was very nice not to have to deal with. My morning smoothie seemed to have helped wake me up.
Here is my video from today about how things are going:
As a special treat today I decided to work from a local tea shop for a couple of hours. Normally I would hang out at Starbucks to work. I’m a huge loose leaf tea fan though, so being able to indulge in a shop that specialized in it is a special treat.
I was talking to someone recently wanting to know why I picked the Clean Program. Here are the top 7 reasons that I picked it and love it:
- Healthier eating choices
- Losing weight
- Clearer skin
- Resetting my taste buds
- Better digestion
- Happier mood
- Getting rid of sugar cravings
This is about the fourth time that I have done the clean program (I believe that you can do it 2 or 3 times a year) and I’m not sure that I would say that it gets easier each time. I know that starting it is difficult, figuring out timing around any sort of special event or travel. And then just taking that step to commit and doing it. Once I am doing it, it comes back pretty easy.
You can read through this Clean Program manual to get a better feel for what it entails. It has a great list of what foods that you can include and what foods that you need to avoid.
Today for lunch I made another favorite recipe from Oh She Glows: Creamy Avocado Pasta. This website is such a gem of great recipes, I just absolutely love it. I usually cut the recipe in half, as it doesn’t keep. I also made it with some brown rice pasta. It is a great use of avocados (just a wonderful source of fat) and raw garlic (which is great for killing anything bad in your gut).
Dinner tonight was a simple smoothie. The recipe is a bit of a treat actually. It is a chocolate cherry smoothie. I used water, almond milk, almond butter, chia seeds, spinach, frozen cherries, raw cacao powder, and cinnamon. Very delicious and a great way to end the day.
I also got some baking done and made the Almond Butter Chip Cookies that I mentioned from Day 2. I didn’t have any clean friendly chocolate or cacao nibs, so I just omitted them. They will certainly come in handy over the course of the next week or so to help combat cravings in the afternoon. Delicious!
Hopefully tonight will be a much more rested night’s sleep. I’m looking forward to sharing Day 4 with you. I also welcome your questions and comments below. Thank you so much for watching and reading!
